Question About owning..

Hi..I want to buy a "Youth" .22LR rifle from Dick's Sporting goods In ILLINOISE and I was wondering what I need to be able to own this?

I know I need A foid card but I was wondering If I can get it because...well im not much of a legal citizen..I mean i have a social security card but yea....
So I was just wondering If A half legal citizen can own a rifle...

If you are from another country then I think you need a hunting or some other permit as well. But if you are an american citizen then you just need the FOID card if you live in IL.

It sounds as if you have been using Instant Messenger long enough to fully qualify as an American citizen.

The state of "ILLINOISE" has no legal requirements to buy a gun. Just walk up to anyone who has a gun, give them cash, and the gun is yours. Really!

You really should explain further - this is NOT democratic underground.

1) If you're legally unable to touch a firearm, letting you touch one is a Bad Thing.

2) If you're a minor, and you want a boomstick, your parents oughta have some say in it.

3) If you're a legal alien, who just happens to be somewhat small in stature, and you're able to qualify, go for it. Go down and talk to the FOID folks or look up BATFE in the phone book.

Oh, and other people call it Illinoise too... There's this big wind that blows south from Chicago...

If your status in the USA is anything but "legal", as you seem to imply, then you have no right to own a firearm. Period.
