I bought the MGW sight tool and installed TFX Pro sights on my Glock 22. Very easy and quick to do.

Using calipers, I measured the rear sight the best I could to be in the center of the slide. It is a little tricky getting a good measurement. But, it looks very close to center.

Question - do you guys take your gun to the range after installing sights and fine tune the rear sight adjustment for windage with your sight tool? If so, what distance do you shoot at?

I have installed many sets of night sights on customer handguns while I was the smith at a local indoor range. Heres my experience. I have found that its not rocket science and each shooter is different. Getting the rear sight in the middle by eye seems to suit over 90% of the guns I did. On a rare occasion I would have to drift a sight tight or left of center because that’s how they naturally shot. Yea I test fired every pistol with new sights to show the customer that it could hit what it was aimed at. Hope that helps.

All of my carry guns are shot at the range with the carry ammo that I intend to use. If there's a POA/POI discrepancy - it gets addressed. I normally shoot at 7yd and 15yd in general, and so that's also how I evaluate POA/POI.

I've rarely found that azimuth needs to be touched much; it's usually elevation that's the issue.

I take the tool to the range with me and confirm zero at 10 yards.

At this point, I have a real good idea where the rear sight should be in the slide (usually at the right edge of the dovetail), so I normally dont have to move it anymore when I check.

Id also suggest you put a drop of blue LocTite on the front sight if you havent already. No matter how tight I get them, they always seem to work loose if I dont.

I have installed a few sets of sights and have found that if the sights are centered on the slide that's good enough.

Years ago it wasn't that way but things have improved.
