What kind of weapon mounted light are you using?

On the Springfield website, it shows a sub compact with a light mounted but when I looked at the products available, it showed a light attachment that worked on 4" and 5" models and apparently not the sub compact.

I am not just trying to be extremely tacticool but I am seeing the advantage of having a weapon mounted light in a home defense situation if I would have to get my kid out of his room etc. Having a weapon mounted light would allow me to have a light and weapon in one hand and the other available to manage the kid and doors.

    Thanks.

Think the "Springfield" model is no longer available, but it was made by Insight Technology

Apparently they're out of fashion or been upstaged by the newer model with laser (X2L), as they seem to be on sale everywhere.
I bought mine off some gun shop on eBay that was clearing out a bunch at $50 each. Not that I really needed it, but at that price, coupled with the fact I like their other products I have, why not?
It also fits my Taurus Millenium Pro and probably a couple other smaller guns I have.
Not nearly the light of their 3X/6X etc, but it's none too shabby!

EDIT: Just downloaded the new 2008 Fitment Chart and they now call the XML the X2. If you go searching for 'em, try both XML and X2.

I've got an Insight XML. A friend gave it to me. I've never used it and the battery needs to be replaced but it fits on the rail quite nicely.

wow, the answer to a question i was getting ready to ask. when i get home, i swap the 10 rounder mag for the 16 rounder mag and goes into a small container with a cheap mag-lite. i'm going to have to add that X2 to the box. :)

Since you're new? to the sub-compact, you might be interested in a Pearce Grip Extenstion?

It really helped with the comfort/control for the dangling pinky with the stock short magazine.
When CCing, I keep the small mag (with extension) in the gun but carry a couple of extended mags for backup.
