Question on barrel length

Im wanting to get a 45 cal pistol for targets and hd and not planning to carry.So my question is would I be better off with a 5 inch barrel over a 4 inch?

Have you had a chance to shoot either one?

I have several, I love the 5 inch and that is what I carry.

The best thing is get to a range, rent both and then decide.

But, based upon the fact you do not intend to carry. A 5 inch offers the potential of better accuracy. It will offer a little less recoil.

If your not gonna cary get, get a 5 inch. No reason not to heck maybe even a 6 inch longslide.

I'm a big fan of the 3 inch (Kimbers) but IMO for the range and HD the longer barrel has advantages over the shorter barrel.
