Title pretty much sums it up....

There used to be a $300 NRA lifetime membership deal that was going around. I'm interested in taking advantage of it, but I haven't heard about it in some time. Does anyone know anything about this?

Also, with the prices of ammo going through the roof, I'd really like to be able to purchase in bulk from online places. I've browsed through Midway and Cheaper than Dirt, but I seem to recall there are other places ya'll have found to be good. Anyone care to point me in the right general direction??

Thanks!

1) NRA Life is up to $1,000.00 (good GOD). I haven't heard a $300 deal for a LOOOOONG time. Sorry.

2) Google "Bulk ammo" (and don't forget to check on shipping costs or you'll get a rude surprise)

Thanks Spectre.

In regards to ammo, I'm really looking for recommendations on places that ya'll have used...not a random Google search. I understand that people might not want to give away their honeypots, so if you're more comfortable in PMing me, that's great too.

There was a Gift $300 NRA Life Membership offered earlier this year. You had to be a friend or a relative of a current Life Member and it was to be paid for by the life member. No limits on how many could be signed up.

I got one from an uncle in Texas and now I'm a Life Member.

I heard there was a mailing just recently for the same deal, but it was limited to only one new member per Life member. I never got the mailing and I called NRA and whoever I talked to said the promotion was over. I need to upgrade my 2 kids to life memberships.

It'll come around again.

Drop me a PM & I'll put you in line. Have about a dozen ahead of you, and don't know how many ( if any ) I'll be able to add. Supposed to find out in mid August. Still waiting on the paperwork from the NRA for the guy that was 1st in line. It's been long enough, I expect it to be in the mailbox everyday.

I think Veterans with a service connected disability can still get a $300 life membership.

I have a life membership but have not been offered the opportunity to sign others up for $300. I'll let people here know when I do have the offer so that I can pay it forward.

Yes....if you're a veteran with disability....you qualify for one of their life memberships. Any percentage is allowed...they honor anything. I signed up as soon as I was discharged.

They bungled my payments when I signed up also...and that was nearly 15 years ago...so I see things haven't changed much.

However, I got it worked out eventually and just keep reminding myself that there are people out there who make mistakes.

It's worth supporting them...even if they do make mistakes from time to time. Thanks for serving by the way.

You might want to cut the NRA some slack. There may be an entirely valid explanation for their lack of activity regarding your membership payment check. They might not have received it. There is another large government organization that handles those sorts of things, and once and a while things get lost in the mail. Either way, if there's a stop payment on the check, then why not just send them a new one and complete the life membership process. Seems to me there's a whole lot of angst here that may be misplaced.

BTW, if folks get fed up with all the extra mail that the NRA sends, and they do send a lot. They have a "do not promote" list. Once you ask to be put on the list your NRA related mail volume goes down to almost nothing. I did it several years ago and I'll bet I don't get two or three things from them a year. The one thing I did get a while back - The Legacy Life Membership Promotion package. And when they call on the phone, once and a great while, I nicely remind them that I'm a "do not promote," and they politely apologize and hang up.

NRA Can Kiss My Grits --

Yeah. Ben Franklin too. The power keeps going out and blowing my computer but the lightning keeps flashing and hitting the trees. You'd figure that after more than 250 or so years the guy would figure out how to get it right. Freak. He can keep his electricity for all I care.

And don't get me started on Ford or whoever it was that invented cars. So I put gas in the car and try to drive to my girlfriend's house. Yeah, so I get there but is she there? No! Darned car is using up gas as if it's going out of style. Why is that anyway? I didn't want to drive to where my girlfriend wasn't! I wanted to drive to where she was!

I'm driving down the street minding my own business. Like I paid for that street with my taxes but I have to pay for it again when I park? They expect me to pay twice? So I tell the robot with the clock in its head, "Like man. Get a life." And a cop comes along just at that minute and gives me a ticket! "Hey, what's your problem you jack booted thug? Whyncha fight crime or the Joker, Batman?" So the cop gives me a funny look and walks away! Like I'm supposed to respect a public servant who doesn't know his place? And that robot stooge of his with the clock in his head can go there too.

The National Restaurant Association can shove it for all I care. It doesn't bother me that SeanMTX asked about an NRA Life Membership and I'm talking about something else. He asked the wrong questions, that's all, and this is what interests me. Me. Me. Me. Me. Me.

"MiMi, you funny little good for nothing Mimi!"
