Saw a lightly used P220 in my local dealer's case today. I'm having trouble finding out any info about this specific variant though, hoping that one you might have more info. It has the standard side mounted decocker, and a frame rail.

The distinguishing feature is the frame is metal, but an OD green color. It comes with three magazines which are the same OD green. It has black plastic grips and a black slide. I seem to remember that it comes with tritium sights, but not positive about that. Also think I remember him saying that the magazine release was reversible, but not 100% on that either, I was looking at a couple of guns so they may have become jumbled. My dealer told me it came in used and was from a special order batch available to dealers for police departments. He didn't have any further info about it.

I was unable to find where Sig has ever produced frames in this color for general production, my only possible match was the P220 ST, which was available in a Nitrolon finish for PD customers. Now this isn't a black frame, but it could be stainless. I don't normally cotton to frames in OD. Blued, black and color-case hardened are my preference. But I might be able to make an exception in this case as the OD frame with the black slide and grips is rather striking.

It fits really nicely into my hands, and while I've been waiting for a P220 SAO, I doubt I'll be able to find one for anywhere near the price this one is marked down for. Any ideas?

Short update. Put it on layaway, it does not have a tactical rail, but does have tritium sights. Here's a picture to assist with identification.

Come on sig, did you really have to make the grips for the OD model baby sh*t green.

Um, the colors might be off, but the one I'm buying has black grips. Are you referring to the dark earth color on the second post?

Those are the old style grips in the OPs pic. I'm wonderin' if that's a custom refinish...

Per the guy at the shop it was special ordered that way by a distributor for law enforcement customers. I'm wondering how many were produced in this configuration.
