I am visiting in the area of State College PA. Can anyone direct me to a nearby shooting range with rentals?

I would also be interested in any other 'must see' places of interest in the area while I'm here.

Thanks for the help!

critter...where about is the college? anywhere near philly?

There is a range in Delaware County (just south of philly) that offers rentals at decent prices, as well as decent prices on ammo...

It's called targetmaster and their website is www.targetmaster.com

i haven't personally been there, although that should change in the next month or two..

State College is roughly in the center of the state and is pretty much surrounded by farm land. I'm not really sure if there are any local ranges that rent or not it's been awhile since I've been there.

Yeah - Grices is worth a peek - caseydog has done <cough> some good business there!! ;)

When is your trip??? I belong to Hollidaysburg Club and while no rental options - could just be I could go over and meet you there during a day - and bring along some ''tools'' of your choosing!!

Would depend on scheduling tho.

Not sure of any gun rental place near State College...

Not sure what you define as "must see". If you're in battlefields, we have plenty of Civil War battlefields. Philly has the birthplace of the US, Independence Hall and numerous other historical sites. Plenty of stuff to do in Harrisburg. Lancaster has the Amish. Plenty of nature trials and such for hiking. Lots of canoe and/or kayaking places. I'd need to break out an atlas, but how far is State College from the new Cambellas store?

Chris - State College is almost slap bang center PA - at a quick guess Cabellas (Hershey) would be approx 80 miles - not too local.

Critter, that club I referred to is near Altoona - approx an hour down from State College... no probably less, more like 45 mins maybe.

A boat ride through Penn's Cave is always interesting.
Take a drive to the north through Benezette and check out the Elk herds. I've seen some massive bulls up there (and Elk feeding right in some back yards). :what:
