I just got a Glock 33rd mag, basically for kicks, and because it is available.

1) It has witness holes for 31 rounds... so is it a 31rd mag with a +2 extension on the bottom? Is that the same +2 extension that fits all 9mm Glock mags?

2) Is there any real practical use for it?

3) Is it reliable?

Yes, its a 31 with a +2, the same +2 for all the others.
Yes, they are reliable, its the Scherer mags that I hear are not.
Practical? well...you don't have to reload for awhile...useful against hordes of zombies, commies and alien invasions. Its also pretty intimidating with that big mag sticking out the bottom. Really, it would be much more useful in the gun it was intended for, the Glock 18, but I've got 3 of them all the same :D

TexAg pretty much summed it up. I have one G18 (31 rounder with the #7151 +2 floorplate extension on it) mag and though it is a blast to use in my G17, I prefer to just use my G17 mags (six of them with the #7151 +2 floorplate installed) in my G17 at the range, giving me nineteen rounds at a time.

Thanks for the input...

Well I guess I'll give it a try at the range. Maybe I can also use it in an unlimited 3gun handgun stage, or at an action fun-shoot sometime. I bet it makes the pistol balance real funny in the holster...

Any 9mm carbines out there use this magazine?

Yep, Kel-Tec makes a carbine, the SUB-2000. They offer a few variant models (each variant accepts different type of pistol mags) and one of the variants accepts Glock G17/G18 mags. I have never handled one myself, but I heard they are pretty fun to shoot. Here is the link to Kel-Tec's website on it:

I have a Kel-Tec Sub2000 that take the Glock mags and I have 4 of the 33 round mags. It is a riot.

Since my Glock 19 is my main carry gun, I keep a loaded 31 round mag (I only put 30 in it) in both my car (drivers side) and my wife's car (passengers side). I keep them loaded with super hot Israeli FMJ +P+ for penetrating car doors. I figure it'll do a bit better than a JHP on a car door.

I'd love to get a sub2k, but I'm just convinced that if you're gonna get a long gun, it should be a rifle. I'm looking at the SU-16C.

Nelson 133 is dead on. Put in your keltec subgun start pulling the trigger and start smiling. Peopel always want to know what it is.

I slap my G17 frame onto a Mech-Tech CCU and feed it with the 33rd. mags. I keep up with the AR-15s just fine in short range 3-gun matches and the ammo is a heck of a lot cheaper than .223. ;)

Yep, they are fun at the range, I carry my Sub 2000 with four of these in a regular briefcase.

I've changed out the light for a mini size one now.

I have a Kel-Tec in 9MM that takes S&W 59 series mags and a Kel-Tec in .40 that takes Glock mags. I have a 33 rounder for the .40 and it is fun for sure.:)

You ought to see the folks at the range when I slide that 33 round mag into my baby glock which normally holds only 10 rounds. I always have strange looks and have to answer alot of questions which I am happy to do. It does look a little stange. Then everyone wants to shoot it.
