A buddy gave me some old Winchester non-mercuric staynless (yep, that's how it's spelled) center fire primers.

I'm wondering 1) how old they might be, 2) if they would still be good and 3) if people out there might collect such things.

I have no idea how old they might be, but when you open a box, the primers are on their sides in a little wooden box.

I have several boxes of No. 108s and several of No. 111s.

Only way to know is shoot them. I feel primers will outlast powder. These are still good, shot 40 in the last 2 days. IMG_4621e.jpg

Yep. probably still good. Cool old boxes a collector may be interested in having. Never know.

    Where are our manners?

    Welcome to the Forum, Jim.

I have old primers like that. They work great. But those funky 'Olde Tyme' collector kinda guys will trade a couple hundred new primers for each box of old collectables. And you'll make them very, very happy.

Like ants said you could trade up for some new primers, 2for1 or something like that.

I have reloaded some 45+ year old powder and primers that my dad had and have not had a single FTF round yet.

Shipping is a killer. If you want to trade or sell them try a local gun show. If you want to load them go ahead and give a few a test.

If you post in the Buy/Sell/Trade section of THR, you may be able to do a Face-to-face (FTF) near your location saving the HazMat/Shipping. :D

Maybe there are things you may want to trade for?
