Questions regarding a Savage Model 11.

I just bought a Savage Model 11 rifle. .308 Winchester.

I have some questions:

1. Is this just a Savage Model 10, with the exception that it has a detachable magazine?

2. Can you fit a Savage Model 10 Barrel on it.

3. Who makes a Heavy-Barrel for this rifle? How much do they cost?


To people who will ask "Why didn't you just google it?". I did, and I got a lot of posts on the Model 10. This is the 11. Hence why I'm here.

excluding the "WSM" rifles all your savage double and triple digit guns will accept the same "small shank" barrels.

Look at shilen, lothar walther, Adams and Bennet (midwayusa), McGowan and SSS amongst others for pre fit barrels. Price can range from $135 for the midway barrels to $350 for a shilen + tools

You can also get WSM barrels for it too. You can get different sized bolt faces for them.
