Someone suggested me to try this Rig out. Expensive but, why not I guest. Forget who the Leather Firm was, anybody remember

I made one some years back. Stitched 44 loops on a big mans belt and made a Cheyenne holster. It ended up not being so comfortable, and I lost it when my house burnt , so now I’m using an simple rugged sourdough pancake holster. I forget it’s there most of the time.

thanks!

had the photos on my phone and forgot the maker.

if I’m a size 36 jean waist. Should I just order a 36 waist?

Something comparable, but at a fraction of the cost, would be a belt from Oklahoma Leather ($60), coupled with a Hunter holster (can be found new on ebay).

No, no, no, no, no!!! I had one of those. I think it was made out of chrome tanned leather. It didn't take long for it to stretch and sag.
I’m just going to buy once, cry once. Everyone talk about how good the quality is and stuff from Elpaso Saddlery.

company been around since the 1900’s and such, and it’s nice man jewelry too for the imaginary BBQ

They ask for your jeans size. Your center hole measurement would typically be jeans size plus 5".
alright… so they ask for Jean Size, I should just say put 36 then….

better yet, going to call them right now

they are closed for until Monday. 12-16 weeks for delivery… WOW! never waited that long for anything.

A quick draw belt is worn lower than your pants belt.

I bought a belt 4" longer. Worked good with jeans on. I found I wanted it to hang a touch lower and with cold weather layer; that belt was too short.

Bought the black belt, (above pic) 2" longer.
Fits perfect. Takes up enough for summer wear and plenty of adjustment for winter.

Take your regular belt and put it on as you would wear your gunbelt and measure.

this rig will be less quick draw and more show-off at the company Woke Protest event in Seattle… Yes, Open Carry is 100% allowed

will be holding 2) 7.5” Colts, and 24 Colt 45’s

That's just it. The "quick draw" game is not historically authentic. It's an invention of Hollywood, particularly of Arvo Ojala and his design of the low-slung "buscadero" holster.

To his credit, John Wayne seldom indulged this fantasy. Note how he carries his gun in "The Shootist."

That's not quite an original design but it is closer than the quick draw holsters. Kinda funny he wore his holsters high when in every western he was ever in he carried an 1873 Colt and an 1892 Winchester no matter the time period.

you historian’s can debate over the color of the sky.

what happened to looking good and pretending to be a cowboy!!!! ME

Sheesh. You require instant gratification?

With El Paso, each holster and rig is made to order. They are not sitting in a warehouse ready to ship. That is why you have your choice of how the holsters hang on the belt, and barrel length.

I do not see an option about barrel length with that particular holster, be sure you order a holster for the proper barrel length of your Colts. I seem to recall they have 7 1/2"barrels?

Also, I strongly suggest NOT getting all those cartridge loops. You would be surprised how heavy a pair of Colts are with 25 loops full of cartridges. If you go with all those loops, you do not have to fill them all.

I learned along time ago how heavy a pair of Colts are when you wear them all day, particularly with a gun belt stuffed full of cartridges, particularly heavy rounds like 45 Colt with 250 grain bullets. Figure each Colt weighs about 2 1/2 pounds, plus maybe another pound of ammo. That's a lot to carry all day long on your belt.
