:neener: Couldn't resist could you. Well I just got one of those small leather bags that you put under the butt of a rifle to help steady it. I have been told to put sand in it. What kind? Beach sand. Anything else that works well. I only want to fill it once. What kind of fill should I use?

I've heard that dried peas or beans work well. I've also heard that you can use the tumbling medium that's used to clean up fired brass.

Some people use rice as a filler I've heard.

And yea you got me. I just had to find out. :D

I thought about lead shot but wondered if after a time lead dust may begin to come out and pose a health hazard.

BB's

Use ari rifle bb's. Just as good as lead shot, but no health risk and much cheaper. THe rice and/ or beans thing works great until it gets wet... then.. Nasty

Playground sand works or you can buy heavy zircon sand from a place like Sinclair International. If the sand is damp dry it in the oven. Mixing in a little talcum powder or even foot powder helps it flow when you feed it into the bag using a funnel.
