Nice, looks like that makes three of us at NCSU :D

If I have time, I'll be going to the Holly Springs range this weekend or next. I'm also signed up to take the April 16-17 CCW class at PDHSC.

Also, anyone else planning on going to the May 7-8 gun show at the fairgrounds? I plan on picking up a Mak or other small pistol there for when I won't be able to carry my revolver.

I keep meaning to go to an orientation for the FETC, but I haven't seemed to have made it yet. I'm going to spring for the $200 membership at PDHSC when I get some $$$ in a few days- but I'd like to have the Holly Springs option for sighting in my rifle, and maybe the 10/22 I'm thinking about getting.

Oh, as for the May gun show, I'd like to go, but I plan on being down at Cherry Point for the airshow at least Friday and Saturday, and maybe Sunday, too. I like to have one day to take photos of static displays, and another to enjoy the performances- but I may have trouble getting the whole weekend off. If I'm home, I'll probably dip in there Sunday to look for interesting things.

I was thinking Range-one as it can accomodate rifles and handguns. Perhaps Wake County range if enough people have their range cards for it.

Change of plans- the airshow that weekend is out, going down to Wilmington this weekend to see the Angels instead. Turns out the 8th is Mother's Day, and getting that weekend off is pretty farfetched. On the other hand, I'll very likely swing into the show Saturday morning, and would be interested in the shoot afterwards. Range1 sounds good- I don't have a FETC card at the moment, though I plan on getting one soon. In any case, I have a rifle that will need to be sighted in in the near future anyway, one my Sightron arrives. My roommate might want to come out as well. I'll keep you all posted.

I plan on being in line no later than 9, and should have anywhere from 1-6 people with me - meet at those benches in the 'lobby' as you go in?

Bump--how'd it go?

I would have thought about going had I stopped by this forum earlier. :banghead:

MisANTHrope, the Cherry Point show was pretty good. Even had a pretty convincing F-35 mockup and a mockup of the STOVL engine assembly (cool), plenty of WW2 warbirds, and a bunch of Marine ground combat hardware. Lots of parents taking photos of kids posing behind APC-mounted .50's. :D

I just got back with my new rifle, a Remington 1903A3 in great shape, with the two groove barrel. Also, there's a guy selling 1500 rounds of Chinese steel-core 7.62x39 for $250.

I really wanted to go to the show this weekend but had an overdue light bill to pay this week. I guess its better to have lights then a new gun or is better to have a new gun and no lights, Hell, with summer comin' up I guess I could stand to take a few cold showers:D Anyway, I will be at the one in Augast.

Good find.

Went in for a Saiga .308, came out with this:

Just ordered some sights for it - hopefully it will shoot well :p

I'm glad I noticed this thread!

I'm a 35yr old ex-pat Brit who's new to shooting (no guns in the UK any more really) and live in Raliegh, NC. I just bought my first SKS this weekend at the Dixie Gun show and before that I just had a little .22 for about a year and a half. I'm mainly focused on milsurps for now, drawn in by the pricing and the lure of battle proven weapons.

I live about two blocks from Davi's, but as I'm thinking of getting in black powder pistols I'll be looking to join an outdoor range some time soon.

Anyone else in my neck of the woods looking to give a noob some pointers, maybe get together and hit the range?
