Fellas...I went to the range this evening to see how my 03 Springfield was going to shoot.

I was using Remington Express 150gr Factory ammo.
I fired three...three shot groups at 50yds and one three shot group at 100yds.

The groups at 50 yds were
1) .852"
2) .751"
3)1.042"

Three shot group at 100yds
1.304"

I am more than satisfied with Mr.Beaver's work!

As Ed said...he is a gunsmith from Bald Knob Arkansas who specializes in M1s..M1as..45's
He builds alot of match grade M1 Garands.

He rebuilt a Garand for me.Top notch work!

Let me know if you are interested in in his work.I can get you his address...phone no. or e-mail.

1) Furnished and installed 03-A3 barrel inwhich he had to furnish and install rear sight base for '03 sight. The barrel has stamped 9-43 and star bomb behind front sight.

2)Furnished and installed new C stock and handguard.

3)Made and installed stock reinforcing bolts.

4)Parkerized

Uhmmmm-Kay.

Now - - Let us see some IMAGES! Post photos of your oh-three, and maybe with some of your targets, too. And, I love the ensemble shots - - -
Rifle, loaded ammo, empty cases, neatly perforated targets, stuff like that, y'know?

Congrats on your nice rifle.
;)

:D :D :D....thanks Johnny.
I e-mail Roland about the nice groups and I am not sure if he believes it :D He said he was amazed that I got thoughs groups out of a '03.

I want to try to get a picture of this rifle and post it..I do not have a digital camera.A friend has one and maybe with the two of us we can get a picture of rifle and ....:uhoh: the targets.

Thanks

My 03A3 is from the CMP...I picked it up over the July 4th weekend.

Shoots Korean surplus 3-shot groups of about 2-1/2". Shot commercial 180 gr Remington ammo into groups of about 2". I'd be pretty happy with your groups to be sure.

Am looking forward to playing around with some handloads to see if I can get the old girl to dial in around 1-1/2" but I'm not holding my breath.

Must take high road and not comment about location of Mr. Beaver...

Specializes in M1A's? Got a website for him? I've been looking into precision semi-auto .308's.

Is it true about Springfield Eye?

I am sitting here reading this, waiting for Fed-EX to arrive with my latest 1903. I missed them Friday and they are going to try again today. I called in sick so I wouldn't miss it.

Where Are They ?

Edit: I no sooner hit the button than the Rottweiler went on the alert: Fed Ex in the perimeter.

New '03 a little better than my first one, but not by much. I don't seem to be able to get one like the ones I see at my local club. Oh, well: I guess I can start removing cosmoline.

Edit again: There is a big crack in the side of the stock. CRAP. I thought I had the hook up on this one. I talked to the woman on the phone a couple times because I ordered a Rock Island (that they had on the website) but she called and said they were out of them. I told her to give me a Remington then, and could she put in a good word for me to get a good one since my last stock was so beat up. :(

Roland Beaver where are you ?

MagKnightX...he does not have a website that I know of.
Here is some info of gettng ahold of him if interested.

NO...it's the '03 sight.Sits in front of reciever.
Using the sight with the "ladder down"my groups were running in the 2 in mark at 50yds.
Raised the ladder sight and..using the peep was when the groups got tighter. I really like the peeps. They work well for me.

Oh Man.....B27....that looks just about exactly like my '03 !!

How does it shoot?

Ok, my 1903 is enroute to Roland Beaver. He estimates that it will be done sometime next spring.
Shipping: I got bent over and dry %*^($* without the curtesy of a reach around. They charged me $77 to ship that freaking rifle.:cuss:
