Range report - New Data help 9mm/45ACP/357mag/10mm

So i got to test some new Home grown rounds today at shore shot.

9MM-
125 gr SWC- 4.3 gr of W231 @ 1.125 OAL = Shot high compared to its round nose counterpart. i was surprised. some FTF due to Hard&cheap Tula primers.Will never buy those again

45 ACP-
200 gr LSWC under 5.5 gr of W231 @ 1.245 OAL= once again used cheap wolf primers causing FTF. But it was dead on accurate
185 gr XTP under 5.9 gr of W231 @ 1.230&1.200 OAL - both were not very accurate. Light load, will need to go up in powder

.357 MAG
158 gr LSWC under 13.8 gr. of 2400 - Deadly accurate, not much recoil. (maybe because i shot the 44 before this )

10MM Auto***help***
200 gr lead out of a Glock 20 @ 1.260-1.265 OAL
I went by the lee and hodge data and found it to be such a light load the slide didnt even want to engage. and it would catch open on the last round
tested at
4.3 gr of W231 - slide wouldn't move
4.8gr of W231 barely enough to move slide
5.3gr of W231 - felt like shooting soft 38 spcl

LEE says 4.2-5.5 gr (870fps-1030fps)
Hodge says 4.6-5.6 gr (827-1011)

***but my lyman says - 5.6-6.3 (985-1067) I should have stuck with lyman

Any insight on the 10mm?

Can't help you with the 100mm, I have not loaded that one.

I do have one question on the primers that did not go off. Did you try them a second time? If you did and FTF the primers are definitely bad, but it they do go off you did not seat the primers all the way.

I use Wolf quite a bit and finally had a FTF in 5k rounds loaded. I use these as malfunction drills.

No, my gun's are all Single Action. i just ejected them manually. All the primers were struck. Maybe 3/10 had FTF

Was that out of a stock Glock ))? They usually give a good primer hit.
If the primers are "harder", it sometimes takes more force to seat them fully into the case. If they aren't seated below flush they may not fire on the first strike. Next time save them and reload a mag to give 'em a second strike.

Yes, All stock Glock with a lone wolf barrel. I actually took the time to hand prime these. I think they were just to hard. Even my 357 didnt like them

I shot some Wolf LPP and some Tula SPP this morninig. The SPP was in a S&W Sigma 9MM and the LPP was in a Tarus PT845 45ACP. They all worked fine. I had some problems when I first started using them. IN MY CASE I wasn't getting them set to the bottom of the pocket. Occasionally, It would hit the primer and leave a firing pin mark but not go bang. If I tried a second strike it would. I have never had a Wolf or Tula that would absolutely not fire. When I started priming them on the press and seating them "with authority" the problem disappeared. They go bang on the first strike every time. For the difference in price I'll prime on the press and keep using them. I still use some WW and CCI but not many.
