Ranger repeating shotgun 12 ga.

I recently bought a "Browning" 12 ga. pump shotgun at an auction. The barrel is stamped Browning patent 12 ga. Proof tested. The receiver is stamped Ranger repeating shotgun. It has a long barrel and a suicide safety in front of the trigger. Everything on this gun resembles the Stevens 520. There are # signs stamped on various places on the gun. 41110 B is stamped on the metal behind the trigger gaurd. The same number is stamped on the barrel assembly, only visible when the gun is taken down.(browning patent take down is very nice) This is stamped over a somewhat legible WWDT? This is a very cool gun and I would like to get a close history if possible....

I thought the Ranger was USRA Winchester, late '70s, early '80s....

I have the same gun, but mine is an earlier J stevens arms and tool company 520 take down model. I'll try and post pictures soon. There nice guns, some of the first enclosed hammer pumps there were. I think the patent date on mine is 1904. What's really cool is that it's actually a john browning design.

I actually just received a Riverside 12ga which is a Stevens 520 Takedown model. I'll be cutting the barrel down tonight.

Was the Stevens 520 ranger repeating shotgun made in the early 1900s or in the 40s?
