    The ad says the two parts are permanently joined. Which begs the question of how one is supposed to clean it.

    The now defunct Herters Co. once marketed a shielded brake very similar to the one illustrated. Herters take tho was fitted with a removable shield and it appears this product is as well.

    Had one, but it was fitted only to a .30 C. so blast and such was never an issue.

    I seem to recall that Herters also marketed one less that shield, perhaps not, anyway the one I'm referencing was back in the early and mid-'60's.
