Seeing RCS holsters more and more in LE magazines.

Anyone have experience with these holsters? Are they IDPA approved?

I personally don't own any Raven Gear. However, both my Glock 23 w/TLR1 and double mag holsters are purchased from a Michigan guy whose design is almost identical to Ravens (NTAC). Initially I wanted Raven Gear but since it's very high in demand last I knew so it takes a while to be delivered. So I went with NTAC and I love it.

In regards to Raven Gear specifically.... The only thing I can say is the instructors in one of the defensive firearm schools I have attended (Michigan Defensive Firearms Institute) swears by them.
 
I have a Raven Concealment Phantom modular holster for my 1911. I ordered it last year about this time during the heat of the firearm and equipment buying binge. At that time they (ordered from their store front called The Malabar Front http://www.themalabarfront.com/ ) advertised 40 days from order to delivery and they were right on.

I have the standard outside the waistband attachment hardware and I also have the inside the waistband tuckable overhooks.

The design holds your pistol very close to your body (is is basically a kydex pancake holster) and very securely. The holster is very thin, light, and strong. The system is a very flexible design. You have several different mounting attachments you can use. Additionally, you can adjust the ride height and cant just by changing what slot you use for the attachments.

I don't know about the IDPA status of the holster. I don't know why it wouldn't be legal.
 
I have several Raven products with another order being worked on, I'm very happy with their gear.

No idea on the IDPA though.
 
I have several and mag carriers from them and I'm very happy with them. Easily the best concealment holsters I have used.
 
idpa legal? no idea, however i do know they are great holsters, iwb or owb you can't go wrong with Raven holsters and or accessories.
 
Instead of starting a whole new thread, I will just ask here since running a search yielded this thread.

What makes them worth $75? I have quite a few Blade-Tech holsters that have served me well for the last two years that have not failed at all and are very good at their niches (concealment, competition, etc.). I have seen quite a few instructors using them and want to know exactly what makes them different from the other quality Kydex holster makers.

i have blade techs as well, and they have worked great, no complaints. however i prefer the raven. the raven is totally modular, you can use it as an iwb, or an owb, an appendix carry, you can add other pouches to the holster etc. my blade tech iwb is nice, but i can't use it as an owb. and my awesome owb blade tech can't be used as an IWB.

additionally the ravens are much thinner(but just as durable), and better wearing, and more comfortable to conceal imho, and even worn OWB they are thinner, and flatter fitting your body. additionally the holster itself is a little wide, which helps the holster "comform" to your body size / shape etc.
 
So their width adds to the overall comfort package, stability, and conceal-ability of the holster system. Ok, I can understand that concept. So basically, in your opinion they are worth it? I looked up the accessories for them, and they aren't lower cost either.
