I have a 700 bdl that I would love to get restocked but it's been beded and since I've never restocked a rifle I don't know if the stock will come off and if it does will it mess up the rifle?
If properly bedded a release agent would have been used making it so you can remove the stock... If not essentially the stock has been glued to the action/barrel.
The barreled action should be able to be removed from the stock if it was done properly ie. the use of an release agent. Simply remove the tang screw( the one behind the trigger) and the screw in front of the floor plate and the stock should separate. Sometimes a sharp tap with your hand wil help.
