I got my Mitch Rosen holster yesterday for the SR9C that I ordered from Ruger. I got the holster that is made for the crimson trace laser, which I have on my SR9C. It’s a REALLY nice holster, and has great (too much right now) retention and conceals really well. I even tried it with an untucked t-shirt and while there was some printing in certain positions, unless one was LOOKING for it, they’d never know it was there. I was walking around the house with it concealed under my t-shirt, and nobody in my family noticed at all. Of course I pulled up my shirt to show them, and they all said they’d never have known it was there unless they were specifically looking for it. They’d NEVER know with the heavy sweatshirt that I’m wearing in these photos. I'm very pleased with it so far. Now all we need is for the People's Republik of Illinois to PASS a CCW law like the Federal circuit court told them they had to by June 9th. I'm NOT holding my breath for anything reasonable, though.

I believe you have a 5JR, which is an FBI canted holster. It is designed for strong side carry just behind the hip. You seem to be wearing it in the appendix or cross draw position. I think it would work better for you if worn on the other side.

If you need to wear the holster in that position, you may be better off with the straight drop Upper Limit (UPL-EXP) model.

Thanks for the tip...and you're correct about the model of holster. I tried it in the position that you mention, but found that I prefer it where I have it in the photos. I'll do much more experimenting, but I found it both comfortable and (besides the heavy retention at this point), easy to draw and reholster. I definitely plan on experimenting with positions. I did NOT think I'd like carrying it in the position that it's in for the photos, but in my brief experimenting, I found it to be pretty comfortable there. It's definitely a right side of the body carry, though. I'll mess with it tonight at home and put it where it's supposed to be carried and see how I like it.

Thanks again,

Warner

Warners, if you don't mind me asking, how long did it take you to receive your holster from Ruger? I ordered a Mitch Rosen for an LC9 from them on April 11, and was showing to be in stock, and when I check the status of my order, it says "Web Order Received." I haven't seen it or heard from Ruger since.
