Recent S&W Model 27-2: Trying out my new camera!

Here is a fairly recent S&W Model 27-2, that i had acquired! I just got a new digital camera(So, bear with me!)because my pictures aren't the best-but, here they are of this Model 27-2!::eek:

I like 'em too. The early Highway Patrols used these guns and they were amazed by the power of the .357 round against other vehicles. They'd pull up next to some clown doing 80 mph and shoot out their tires -- and when they'd shoot from in back, the heavy .357 round would go through the trunk, seats and take out the drivers, often leaving the bullet in or near the engine. The big frame made it feel like they were shooting powder puffs, too.

There is nothing as fancy as a decent Smith & Wesson from that era. The lustrous bluing and fit just wouldn't quit. I'd love to have one.

The Smith Model 27 is one of The All-Time Classic Revolvers. It is one which I hope to own some day. Also , your pics are far above average!
 
So does this handle the full power .357 loads alot better than the Model 19?

Does it feel smaller/lighter than the Model 29 being a 44 mag? Or is it about the same as a Model 29?

I have a blued Model 29-2 in a 4 inch that I haven't shot yet, but feels pretty big.
 
I think it is fair to say that the N frame is more robust and might take longer to shake loose with a lot of hot loads - the N next to a K does look considerably larger, both in frame and cylinder.

I don't think (without weighing) the M29 will be a lot heavier - well, frame is same but some extra weight perhaps from cylinder. Not a lot tho IMO.

M27 and M29 will feel all but same in the hand - now, go shoot that 29-2 ya hear ;)
 
The Model 29 has a bull (straight/heavy) barrel.
The Model 27 & 28 has a tapered barrel.

I weighed all of mine a while back but I can't find the stats.

As I recall my 28-2 weighs the same as my 25-5.
My 629 weighs an ounce or two more and my Model 57s weigh an ounce or two more than that. (6" barrels)
In reality they all feel the same to me.

My 544 weighed within a half ounce the same as my 27-2. (5" barrels)
 
The N-frame .357 magnums are great. I own three of them. Don't shoot them all the time, but I always try to get one of them out to the range at least a few times a year. Can't go wrong. Wish they were still making them. And I'm not counting that eight shot mutant.
 
Beautiful 27 and outstanding pics! I've got a 5" and a 6" and luv'em. There might be better "using" guns today, but no better "looking" ones!

Seriously, you have something special there. I would love to have that wheel gun. My 4 inch 28 needs a companion.

Believe it or not, I had the same problem, in trying to find my 4-inch Model 28-2! It took almost forever!:banghead:

2)I appreciate everyone's positive opinion's regarding my Model 27-2! Although I didn't include any pictures of it in this thread, my M27-2 had come in an S&W wood presentation case with an unopened package of S&W cleaning tools!:what: :D

3)I feel very fortunate to have found this M27-2! I haven't seen another good one, in a very long time, where I'm located(CA!)!
