Gents,

Savage recommends the use of .310 bullets in their 7.62x39 caliber rifle. It seems most dies of the same caliber are set up for .308.

Can anyone recommend a solution?

I would call Lee and ask them the same question. I do remember reading some place that there are two different expander ball sizes available for the sizing die.
If you prefer a different brand call them as I'm pretty sure this is a common issue.

My older Lyman dies have both expanders.

I only used the .308" one though as I loaded for both bullet diameter and a little extra neck tension never hurts.

My lee die set also has both size expanders included in the set. Also the lee depriming pin is set up to slide up and not break if you encounter a berdan primed piece of brass you may have missed unlike the other brands of dies. They also cost less than the other brands. So I ultimately recommend the Lee dies for you.

Lee. Just loaded 50 .310 Hornady SP for my vz-58 with them, good stuff for a reasonable price. Both diameter expanders were included.

Did you encounter any problems with seating .310 bullets after resizing at .308?
