I was looking through the Lee reloading book earlier today and there was some Red Dot loads in there. Also look in the Alliant book. I picked up a book from Alliant it has alot of info. I don't have my books here.

Red Dot is a good powder for the .45 acp. You'll have to look up data in the manuals. The Lyman Manuals would be a good place to start.

    Hope this helps.

Get data from Alliants website"s interactive reloading guide for 230gr Speer Lead RN.

I've loaded quite a few of the 200gr SWC with 4.2grs of Red Dot and it makes for a nice mild target load.

Look up data on Alliants website and use their interactive reloading guide. There are Red Dot loads listed for the 230gr Speer LRN.

    The Alliant manual load:

45 acp: 230gr lead (target), Fed 150 primer, Min OAL 1.19", Red Dot 4.0gr MAX LOAD, 810 fps
    Start 10% less

I've never tried cast bullets in 45acp.

Edit: Looks like Steve got in ahead of me. Wife interrupted me, so I had to go back and verify the data.

That is going to be on the hot side.
Red Dot is a lot like Titegroup. I use 4.2 grs of Red Dot in my 230 LRN loads.

Hey Putt, thanks for your input, I may drop the load down to 4.5 grs.
I like to be on the safe side.
