Picked up a gen 5 G17 MOS yesterday, I like it. It’s my 5th glock, so I’m quite familiar with them

I’m interested in a red dot for it but I have a few questions
I have an aimpoint PRO on a carbine which is the basis for my red dot experience

when the PRO is too bright for the conditions it washes out obscuring the target a little (useable but distracting and not ideal)

does the RMR or aimpoint Acro have similar issues, the G17 is gonna be a road trip/HD and occasional CCW gun and the sight Needing adjustment from indoor to outdoor, bright light to a gas station after sunset makes me hesitate (how often do you draw your ccw gun and check sight picture? Rarely to never after you leave your house)

if I like the dot on the G17 I’ll get my gen 3 27 and 23 milled for dots as well, and yes I will drill and train with the dot because the sight picture/natural point of aim is different from standard sights to red dot

I have a Gen 5 19 with a Delta Point Pro on it. I have not noticed any major washout issues. I use a middle to high brightness setting and have had good luck with it so far. I shoot from a shaded bench out into an uncovered field sometimes and while the dot can be slightly harder to pick up at lower intensities, at the brighter setting it isn't too bad. But, like you said, I have never tried drawing it at the gas station to check the sight picture....My real issue with the DPP is how tall it sits....much higher than the Trijicon. Co-witness sights are crazy tall to compensate for it. I would prefer it sit lower.
