Redding Free Floating Carbide button kit for FL die ?

I've just fitted a Redding Free Floating Carbide button kit to a .223 full length sizing die and I'm wondering if the button is meant to have the range of movement it has.

These 2 photos show the amount it can move,





The tip piece won't screw on any further so I'm guessing this is correct.

It floats on the .308 just like your pictures.

Same on the 30-06 and .223. Careful with unfired bulk brass it is effortless to crunch the case mouth.
