Can any of you gents offer your opinions as to the quality of these brands of ammo? 16 Ga is sometimes in short supply, and sometimes it comes down to taking what is offered. Thanks.

I had zero issues with either, shooting Estate in 12ga and Fiocchi in 28ga. In fact, I've shot probably 10K rounds of Estate alone over the last couple of years alone without complaint.

I shoot both. Estates, now that ATK/Federal owns them, seems to run a little dirtier as I often get unburned powder flakes. Fiocchi, OTOH, runs awesome. I really like their Crushers in 12 gauge.

>>But the Estate 410 shells are really dirty and require a lot of cleanup.<<

To say nothing of the cost. .410 is the only gauge I reload these days.

Sad to say but the Estate, Rio, and Fiocchi shells are better than the promotional loads put out by the domestic ammo companies.

Have been using Fiocchi and Estate shells for years shooting trap and skeet. Great performance from both with no problems to report.

Estates were the only 16 gauge ammo I could find for a while after buying my first in that gauge, an 11-48. It worked just as well as the Rem game loads that I had been using. Never a problem at all.

I can't comment on Fiocchi.

I've never used Fiocchi shotgun ammo. But I have shot a lot of Fiocchi handgun ammo. It's what I primarily look for when shopping to pick up ammo.

I've shot a lot of Estate in both 12 and 20 GA. Only issues so far is the need to check each round before shooting. Found a few with bulged/otherwise-screwed-up hulls or brass.

Fiocchi & Estate

I am one of the "cult"members that loads and shoots 28ga. & the 16 ga. I use the Fiocchi Golden Pheasant loads to bird hunt with, and they are pretty much the " gold standard" in my book.....I have also used their hulls to load and they are great components.....I have shot a couple pallets of Estate loads over the years on the clay range and they have served me well also.

I've shot a lot of Estates in the past three years, and they've always worked well for me. I find that they're no dirtier than Winchester's low-end offerings.

I've shot plenty of Estate shells in 16 and 12 gauge without a problem. Grandson shoots 20 gauge Estate...no problem.

Added bonus is the paper base wads (after shot) have a little of that pleasing aroma from the past...fired paper shells from hunts decades ago.

I use Fiocchi every week , rain or shine, 28gram for clays, maybe 75 to 125 shells per outing.

Never a problem, good value in my opinion.

Same situation here. Local big box stores don't carry 16ga and only one gun store carries any. Shot both brands this dove season. Fiocchi seemed cleaner but estate was cheaper. Both shot fine.
