Are there any reliable 20 or 25 round mags out there for the 10/22 that are reliable? If so, what is a good source for them?

    cheers,
    Derek

Go buy some Butler Creek "Hot Lips" 25 rounders. They can be found various places online. There are two different group buys for them right now in the Group Buys section of THR.

Reliable 10/22 magazines are one thing- But you're asking for reliable 10/22 magazines that are reliable, too? The only reliable 10/22 magazines I've ever found are unreliable. :neener:

    Okay, I'll quit. :p

    I was stressing "reliable."

so if anyone could reliably tell me what vendor reliably carries such reliable mags, i'd be much obliged.

    cheers,
    Derek

Do the Butler Creek mags use 'constant force' springs like the Ramlines?
If so, I'd stay far away from them as I had several ramline 'constant force' mags and not a one of them ever fed reliably.

The one reliable hicap mag I had was a plastic body/lip Eagle 30 rounder.
Too bad I sprayed it with Gun Scrubber to get the crud out of it and it melted on me.

A friend of mine just bought a Butler Creek 25rd, but hasn't tried it yet.

Despite being very similar, the BCs (from what I've experienced) are lightyears better than the Rams, at least from the samples I've used. This was comfirmed by a friend with the mags he sampled. The Rams would work great for 5-8 magfuls and start to misfeed. No amount of cleaning or mods would get them reliable again. The BCs (Hot Lips) ran (and are still running) like champs.

I picked up one of the Butler Creek 25-rounders, though I don't really know why. Just 'cause I can, I guess. I need one about as much as I need an armpit in the middle of my face. I filled it up the other night and didn't much like it. The last few rounds are a holy bitch to load. I'll take it out one of these day to see how well it works but I really doubt if I'll use it a whole lot.

BX-1s are the most reliable 10/22 magazines, with the big clump of aftermarket 20+ capacity ones following as a distant second.
