I have been reloading for five or so years. I ran across an ad from Phoenix State University offering an online course to receive a Reloading Certificate. Has anyone on THR taken this course? I have no plans to sell any reloading shells. Just wanted to see if anyone has received the Certificate and if the course is worth the time and money to take it. Thanks for your replies.

It is total BS, same as all the other courses offered by Phoenix State University.

This is NOT the University of Phoenix, which is a real university.
It's a deploma mill.
They don't even have a collage campus or professors.

But you too can be a certified:

Here is what it looks like is required to do it as far as FFL goes. Does anyone know if there is a written competency test, facilities inspection, product inspection or other hurdles? What about local zoning? The fire department may have concerns.

see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Firearms_License

From the above:

Type 6 Licensed manufacturer of ammunition and reloading components other than ammunition for destructive devices and armor piercing ammunition.

Type 7 Title 1 manufacturer of firearms and ammunition, who may also act as dealer; may not manufacture or deal in destructive devices, ammunition for destructive devices, or armor piercing ammunition. Can also manufacture & deal in Title II NFA firearms with class 2 tax stamp.

Thanks guys. I was a little suspicious, that's why I posted the questions. Frankenstein your reply explains a lot when it pertains to congress.

rockdoc,
In addition, if you search "Phoenix State University", you will get mostly unhappy individuals. I did not even add the word "Complaints" to the search term.

Phoenix State University? You can buy a cheap publishing program, print your own diploma as fancy as you wish, get your momma and barber to sign it and save a lot of money.

I wish they had a Professional Fisherman Master Bater Certificate.

Those guys have all the fun!

And being a PSU Certified Master Bater could only make it better.

Forgive me lord and all the starving Pigmy's in Africa.

Saw that name on a lobster boat out of So. Bristol a couple years ago. Later on I met a fellow cruiser from that harbor and enquired about the owner. His reply was something along the lines of: That boy isn't quite right.

What's the difference between a Phoenix University degree and affirmative-action-achieved degrees from Columbia and Harvard Law? Probably not much substance-wise, but the latter might get you into the White House.

Pretty sure PSU is not accredited. So their "degrees" are not recognized by anybody.

University of Phoenix is accredited. I don't think the similarity in their names is just a coincidence.

BTW, that's not how the "stinking badges" line really went in the movie. (I think the pop culture version is a little better than the original; probably why it got so much traction)
