Well here we go have 2 SKS's and i know it's cheaper to buy steel case berdan primed but i really like to reload.
here's my trouble all the jacketted soft point i have try;ed jam going up the ramp not all 1 out of 20 or 30 have try'ed the shortest to the longest col with little luck, 147gr spbt using 28gr of blc-2 cant get the bullet in far enough giong to try imr4198, Barrys plated feed and shoot with 23gr of reloader7 at 50 yards i can get most of em in a 2ft pattern, same trouble with .308 plinkers I have over 1000 cases powder primers no work and it's raining want to keep it cheap so if you can offer any solid advise it would really help. with the wolf ammo 50yds 10 rounds 3'' group.
Save me from the wolf.
THANX

How fast is 23gr of R7 pushing those plated bullets? Berry's states that the max is 1700fps, so that might account for the poor accuracy.

does the weapon function ok with surplus ammo? if so i would start by copying those dimensions and then tweek for speed and accracy from there. i can see where the 147's may end up a bit long but and im not sure that you arent spinning plating off of the berrys. i dont know the specs for sks barrels but 23 gr of Rel 7 SOUNDS ok to me. if the bullets are flaking then i would refer to above advice and copy what you know works.

i have no real experience with the .308's out of a .311 or similar but i would expect a loss of accuracy there. as to what degree, however, im not sure.

Becareful of the soft primer, slam fire POSSIBILITY with a free floating sks firing pin. Might not happen 999 out of 1000 times, but.......:scrutiny:
