Just when I thought reloading was dead. There's almost nothing at the guns shows these days. Then I talked to an old timer and he said there was a store for reloading in St. Augustine. I thought ... no way. There's no chance someone has a store dedicated to reloading anymore. It was a 50 minute drive for me. Jackpot ...

Appears to be 1 hour and 27 minutes frome me... did you clear out that imr4198. I can't see any prices but I'm compelled to ask how much that h4895 was????

Eighty-four year old guy and his wife running the shop 5 days a week ... Tues - Sat. Nice couple, talked my ear off. I expect they don't get a lot of traffic, though there is a Subway next to them. Prices are higher than online ... I paid $42 for a bottle of True Blue. If you could buy it online, it'd probably be less except for the Hazmat add-on. But I'll pay what he's asking to have a selection like that near me. I didn't look at the prices of Bullseye, Red Dot, or Unique ... I'm flush with that stuff. He had some ACME bullets that I grabbed to try as well ... 300 grain RNFP for 45 Colt in the little wooden box. He had a lot of Enduron 4166 which he equated to Varget. I'm not up on what's equivalent to Varget ... maybe RL-15 is close. Since IMR is now run by Hodgdon, maybe they're dumping the same stuff in the Varget and the 4166 bottles ... you know how they are. He apparently does a lot of shooting and reloading ... not having much else going on in the bustling metropolis that is St. Augustine.

He's almost all 1lb bottles except for the odd ones like RamShot Competition, etc. He only had a couple of 8lb jugs around. Plenty of primers as well. He's got a few guns in a case on the other side. I think he had to do that to stay in business as I expect his reloading traffic has dwindled over the last decade.

2:38 for me. Each way. The Red Dot has me intrigued. I don’t see Blue Dot. If he had both it might be worth it. I’m full up on Unique, Bullseye, Power Pistol and 2400. I’m fine for Red and Blue Dots but can probably use another pound of each. I’m out of Herco but that’s okay; I have plenty of No.7.

Nice place. Next time we decide to take a beach vacation we’ll go there.

I'd buy herco, unique and that h4895 for testing purposes as I've not yet had pleasure....

Marvin and his wife have been there for years, usually pretty well stocked and if he doesnt have it ask him about it and he'll try and find it for you. He's my local guy, I thought everybody had one. As a side note there also a shop on 6th street in Daytona just east of nova road.
Uh oh, I will apparently be driving to Daytona tomorrow. Much closer drive. I thought that guy in Daytona had gone out of business ... or someone at a show told me he had. The problem is, some of these people don't have websites and even when they do, they don't know how to get indexed by Google or any of the other search engines.

When people ask about midrange .357 loads I always want to recommend Herco. Then I remember it’s pretty much unobtainium.

It’s okay if you have to share ammo between a carbine and a revolver and you really don’t like Unique; but there’s not much you can do with Herco that can’t be done as well with Accurate No.7. IMO.

I was surprised when I walked in to the model airplane store down the street looking for a B-52 model. Half the store has plastic kits and RC planes and the other half is reloading gear and supplies. I didn't find a kit to buy, but I walked out with a $30 .308 die set.

There's a large comic book store in my neck of the woods that sells guns, ammo, and reloading stuff along one counter. The rest of the store is comics, toys, and models.
