Has anyone had dealings with this company? I recently purchased some powder from them. Which they charged to my card. Almost immediately, 2 other charges showed up on my bank site. They were both for Sony PlayStation. Both fraudulent charges. I contacted the bank and they are sending me a new card. I'm normally careful with that card and haven't used it for anything but fuel in the last few weeks. Coincidence?
My kids are grown So it could not be them. I intend to call them about it. I was just wondering if others had any experience with them.

Thx
Ken

I got one order out of three that were ordered. Their prices are a little high and service is ??????. I am just going to stay away from them.

Those charges on your card might be from a result of doing business with them, or it might be a result of using your card in a compromised reader at you fuel station. Best to investigate thoroughly.

I've never heard of Reloading Unlimited so have never done business with them.

I tend to buy from suppliers that I have used in the past that I didn't have any problems with. I don't like to change things.

So you have no knowledge linking Reloading Unlimited to the fraudulent purchases made with your card? Yet you essentially chose to muddy this company's name on an open forum?

Perhaps a better version of this post would have been to ask if any members have had difficulty in doing business...

I have encountered Reloading Unlimited principals personally at the Greenville Gun Show, another coming up in a few weeks. They use a mobile device to take credit cards. If they use it at home base, it might have been hacked. I would worry about the technology rather than demean the integrity of the company. Before you go posting this stuff publicly, you should be talking to Reloading Unlimited. If there is a powder that is hard to find, they will likely have it at gun show prices.

I will probably go early to the gun show so they don't get picked clean by the powder rats.

The only dealings I have had with them have been at the local gun shows in Raleigh. I won't ever deal with them again, but it has nothing to do their credit card reader allegedly being hacked, it has to do with them charging outrageous prices. I've been told by one local vendor that he was approached by RU at a gun show, wanting to buy out his inventory of powder. Seems the local guy was way cheaper.

Now this was during the big scare a little over a year ago. RU was selling Bullseye in 8lb containers for $300. That is just one example.

Since the prices have dropped significantly at the local Raleigh shows, RU does not even come to town anymore - which is fine with me.

<rant off>

As an owner of two small businesses I can say most hacked cards have nothing to do with your most recent Web purchase. Frankly nowadays the majority of numbers used fraudulently are computer generated until they get working numbers. People like my parents who never even use computers and don't really purchase anything with their cards have the number used fraudulently.

$37.50 a pound then would have been about right to discourage hoarders and reserve powder for those who really needed it. A vendor would be a fool to pay for a two day show and be sold out in the first two hours. If that happened, something wasn't priced right.

I was finally able to speak with them and they are not aware of issues with their system. The lady did say she would check into it though. I've not muddied anyone's good name. I simply asked a question about a company I had not dealt with before. If it upsets anyone, I don't care. Thank you to those who were helpful. I don't think the charges had anything to do with RU. New card enroute, problem solved.

I ordered powder and primers online from them twice last year, was happy with the prices and had no issues with them. As far as I can tell they are good to go. YMMV.

And you are alright with them wanting to buy out their competition's stock so they can keep their prices jacked? If so, then by all means support them.

There are two vendors at the local show that kept their prices down, even though they did sell out of most of their powder stock in the first few hours. They are the ones that get my money now - I walk past any others.

I apologize to everyone for going off on a rant. It is just that RU is to reloaders what CTD was to firearms right after the big scare.

I ordered 8 pounds of Unique from them almost a month ago. A little pricey, but shipment was quick and no problems encountered. Before finalizing my order I emailed them with a question about registering before making the purchase and response was quick. Just sayin', They can't be all bad.

As a retailer myself in a different discipline (a capitalist), I am absolutely okay with buying up competitor supplies, if I can make a worthwhile profit on it. Consumers have no entitlement to prices they like. A seller's market (product scarcities) is more aggressive than consumers might prefer.

That's exactly right. You charge what the customer will pay. Period.
You don't like my price? Buy from someone else at a different price.
This is the very fabric of commerce.
