I've got 8# of H4350 for target loads, but also have 1# each of Reloder 19 & IMR 4831.

Thinking these two powders could have some use, but definitely stick with the H4350 for target loads.

Anyone use any of these powders for hunting rounds? Say a Hornady 140gr SP or a Nosler 100gr Ballistic Tip? I've got several hundred of each sitting on the shelves to use for hunting evetually.

The IMR 4831 would work for either. The RX19 is a little slow for the 100gn.

    Hodgdon list RL 19 as #120 ... IMR 4831 as #121 .... http://www.hodgdon.com/burn-rate.html

According to that... they would be very close in burn speed ... If IMR 4831 works for a 100 gr. then RL 19 would also...

Not saying that they are the exact same .... but in my uses ...I find that they are very close the same burning speed...

Hmm.. I might just keep this powder then. For a little while, might be difficult to get H4350. This was one of the first powders to go at PV, before even Varget.

Mine likes RL19, even with a 140 VLD.

Typical choice for 260 Rem is H4350. RL-17 got some news, but folks complained of temperature sensitivity. It won't take me long to go through one pound of either powder.
