I've tried to find the age or vintage on this rifle but no luck, a Rem mod 700 with no ADL or BDL marked on the barrel, serial 195348, .22-250, barrel is tapped for open sights but none ( scoped ) . Stock is monte carlo with checkering, no forend tip, no floorplate for magazine, internal 4 round style.
Any knowledge would be helpful, always like to know what I can about each thing I own. I know its a great shooter, thanks.

TIMC--- I see a small toolmark and then the letters L N 12 on the left side up next to the reciever

From what I found , it appears to be Feb of 1966, dont know what the 12 stands for, thanks for the site, its in my fav's now.

I saw different N's on that chart for other years, which way do you read it? My dad had this rifle from well before 1993, reloaded for it when I was a youngster and I'm 44 now. Always thought it was an earlier production of a 700 cuz of no designation of ADL or BDL--- like a base model. He died in 2001 so I cant ask him.
