i'm sorry the caffeine hasn't hit my brain yet this morning.

one of the mods here had a post that outlined what the various NRA organizations do. (ex. NRA-PVF).

can we get a quick re-cap? i have so many mailings and fund-raiser requests to answer ... i need to prioritize.

thanks!

Friend of the NRA ------Have banquits like DU(not the nutty web site but Ducks Unlimited) where they auction off things and have raffles. The money does NOT go to lobbying. It goes to supporting the shooting sports. Half of the money raised stays locally. Dues for membership do not go to lobbying they pay for your magazine. Second Amendment Task Force goes to protecting you RIGHT with ads etc. NRA Foundation supports shooting sports and things like the Whittington Center in NM. NRA-ILA supports going to Washington and laying down the law to the people there. That is my understanding.

Friends of the NRA (described above) is a 501c3 so donations to it are tax-deductable.

NRA Civil Defense Fund helps with RKBA-related civil rights lawsuits (like Heller). It is also a 501c3.

The NRA Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) is a 501c4 lobbying group.

The NRA Political Victory Fund is a PAC. It donates to campaigns of people running for office.

I'm not sure what exactly each one does. But, I think that it's in their by-laws that each NRA business unit is required to send out at least 3 pieces of spam email per day.

Friends of the NRA actually falls under the NRA Foundation, which is geared towards education, safety, training, etc.

NRA-ILA (Institute of Legislative Action) is who is in the Statehouses and Capital Bldg. fighting (lobbying) for your rights. Each state has an NRA-ILA legislative liaison.

I am an NRA-EVC (election volunteer coordinator) for the 12th Congressional District in Ohio. This falls under ILA.

Bubbles had everything well covered.
