Remington 1903A3 question

Thanks very much Little Joe. You had to go and ask "the question" Part of me says that it can only be unfired once but my trigger finger is gettin a little itchy. And hence the dicotomy.
Any thoughts would be apprecieated.
Thanks again LJ for the kind words ;)

If you have several 03's, I suppose you could let this one sit unfired. But what fun would that be? If you get enjoyment just from owning it, or you see it as a potential investment, don't do it. Hang it on the mantle, call it a day.

Or take it out and let it do what it was created to do. Imagine a deer that never got to run, or a bird that never got to fly. 65 years.... imagine all the pent up hell it has inside to raise!

It's a beautiful instrument. Let it sing!

My vote

Let it sleep.....

Probably the only rifle like it in existence.

After all, how many Mann Accuracy Devices were there and are there now. And how many built, beautifully into a serviceable, virtually new 1903 Springfield ?

I would savor the moment. As you said " it is only unfired once ". No rush.

Just my .02

Thanks guys for all your comments and thoughts. After seeing the feedback I probably won't be shooting it. At least as long as I own it. I have many other 03's that can handle that task. The hard part is that whenever I get a new rifle I find much pleasure in wringing it out to see just what it is capable of.
I have listed it on Gun broker so perhaps the person who purchases it will shoot it ... maybe not. It is one of a kind and as Little Joe mentioned quite possibly the only one in the universe.
Thanks again guys for your insight:)

Hey Lencac,

I got the bidding started. Good luck.

And in case I do a little further bidding I want everyone to know, this is a straight up deal for me. I happen to like the rifle and would love to own it. I do have a limit though....Wife has been very understanding lately..... !

I have never met, nor talked with LENCAC beyond this thread and my thread on whether my 1903a3 was "Unissued, Refurbished or Both".

Regards Joe

Can you say shill (spelling?) bidding?? Ha Ha !! Tell ya what...I will take that fake cobbled up piece of dung off your hands right now for $500.00...As a matter of a fact Me believes Butt will be high bidder. Sure wish I would win the lotto in the next few days cuz I know she is going to skyrocket out of my range. Once again...beautiful Lencac

Hey Little Joe ..........;)

I have never met, nor talked with LENCAC beyond this thread and my thread on whether my 1903a3 was "Unissued, Refurbished or Both".

All though I would like to get more for it I kind of hope you win. My starting price was based on how much I have in actual costs to this point plus what I got for the Mann barrel I took off it. So as you could tell this was not a cheap rifle to build.
I just like building these things for a hobby and it keeps me off the streets at night.

Skidooman....you are right.

California has finally, after 30 years as a place to work turned me off. The dumb F***'s finally wore me out...I am looking forward to moving. Got about three years left until I retire....Got a good job though and I appreciate that good fortune. Pure luck.....

Eat crap sandwiches from my younger brothers all the time about crap gun laws here....and they are right...I'd kick their butts for messing with me like when we were younger, except they got big like me and they are younger and stronger and now I just have to take it.....:(

Lencac....I have no expectations buddy....it is what it is....I get the interesting hobby part. I view all of my guns as a hobby and I am just a temporary caretaker...

It's a 100% Remington rifle built by the LENCAC ARSENAL that is as beautiful as it is unusual.....I know I'd like to have it. I'm guessing guys are "stragtegerizin" , checking bank accounts and if they are not, I'll give it a great home.

Joe
