Does anyone know from experience a 22 conversion kit that will work with Rem 1911 r1? I contacted Rem and all the could tell me was any kit designed for a 80 style safety should work? That could turn out to be a pricey endeavor if it didn't
    Thanks

A standard .22LR conversion kit will probably work. The R1 appears to be a standard-pattern 1911, unlike some of Remington's earlier offerings that had an external extractor. However, for the price of a conversion kit (or less), you could get a cheaper dedicated .22LR 1911.

I believe that either the Marvel or the Tactical Solutions conversion kits will function on either Series 70 or Series 80 type 1911's.
If you want more trigger time with your favorite 1911 then a conversion kit is great. Otherwise purchase a Browning Buckmark or Ruger 22 for reliable plinking.
