Hi, I found an original XCR from the 2005-era (Pre-Cerebus acquisition) in 338 Wing Mag. 7-5/8 lbs unloaded with a 26" barrel. From what I've read, the TriNyte coating over stainless steel is very durable and tough. The rifle is going to be used for elk/moose/bear primarily. Anybody own/shot one of these? The stock is basically a SPS style stock but the owner has replaced the R3 recoild pad with a Limbsaver. Otherwise stock. What's a decent price for a VG+ condition rifle?
Well I picked one up and it's awesome. Stainless with Trinyte is very slick. The action is nice and firm, I'd say the tolerances and rollmarks are even tighter than my 1987 R700. And wow the X-mark pro trigger is good on this one.
