Greetings,

I'd like some input regarding the Remington 7600 short action from those who have had experience with this rifle. The problem I've been having is that none of the factory magazines that I have will feed reliably. Generally the last or next-to-last round will pop out of the magazine lips when the spent case before it is ejected. The consenseus regarding this rifle is that it is eminently reliable, but I have yet to experience this. The conclusion I come to based on my own experience is that there is a flaw in the magazine design, though I have never encountered any references to such problems. It's a shame because otherwise it's a nifty little rifle, and I'd really like it to function properly. Has anyone else had such issues with his 7600? Are there after-market magazines that might function better? Any insight would be appreciated. Much obliged.

I bought a 7600 few weeks ago in 30-06

Very reliable

Ar eyou sure you have the right magazines???
In the 7600 the worst can happen is that you have to play a bit with the magazine lips if you have feeding problems

Yes I would agree with saturno they are for the most part reliable and I would say nothing will for the most part work better than the factory mags I would purchase another new mag in you particular cal you shooting then you will have a template for the other mags to ajust them to match then again you can never have to many mags for a firearm

You may have to grind off a little 'hump' on the follower face, where it rises up to hold the first round loaded in place. The factory mag I have for my 760 had this already done, and I have found that some aftermarket mags will require similar treatment.
