I have a Rem. 799 in 22-250 and am having a problem with the follower. The rear portion of the follower is sticking resulting in a tilt. This makes loading a real pain if not sometimes impossible.

I spoke with the Remington rep. at the SHOT show and tried the suggestions he laid out.

    Anyone have any insight?

    Thanks.

Not having seen one, I can only guess.
It almost has to be a spring issue, or a follower issue.

The spring issue might be cured with a real 98 Mauser mag spring.

If the follower is just binding or dragging on the box because it is too wide, a file should cure it.

I suppose the stock inletting could also be too tight and squeezing the sheet metal box.
In that case relieve some wood where it is too tight.
