Remington Core Lock Bullets

Does anyone have a reloading data source for these bullets?

For CoreLokts, just substitute the same data for a similar bullet. Good place to start is the Lyman manual. I used the data for Hornady's 7mm 154 grain SP for Rems 150 grain CoreLokt SP. Both are flat base and have similar dimensions.

Don't know what caliber, but I load 140gr Core Lokt in 7mm with 45gr of Varget for 3005fps. This is a max load. 46gr gave me pressure signs. These are very accurate and did well this deer season for me with a quartering away 200lb 12 point this year. Stopped just under the opposite shoulder after breaking 2 ribs going in and going through the opposite side shoulder bone.

Hope this helps, but your question was pretty vague. To give a more vague answer I could say to buy almost any reloading manual. If Core Lokt (which usually it is) info is not mentioned specifically use the information for some other Soft point and start several grains under max for that one and work up as required.

Thanks fellas. I figured that is what I had to do, but I thought I would ask. Those bullets are reasonable, and they do a great terminal job. I'm going to load them in 30-06,
7 Rem MM Mag, 270, and 300 WSM. I'm going to try to keep them around 3000 FPS, or lower.

I've always been a big fan of Remington's CoreLokt bullet. I use their 150 grain in my .280 and their 100 grain in the .243.

We've been primarily reloading Core-lokts for deer and elk about 20 years now. Right at 3000 FPS in a '06. Very good terminal performance, as good or better than some premium I have seen, will shoot MOA or better at prices as far as I know can't be beat

Core Locks

I use 150 gr .308 Win with 42 gr Varget and get touchers at 100. They expand well. They rival my 168 SMK groups. Good price too.

In the .30-'06 I load the 180 grain Core-Lokt over 46 grains of IMR 4064.
Good accurate load and I've been using it for 50 years.

I wish I could get my hands on some of those round nose core locks. Why did they discontinue them?

FWIW; I find that data correlates closely between Hornady Pt.SP's and Remington Corlokts.
I have some older DuPont loading manuals that have Remington Corelokt data, but only include the SR and IMR series powders...

RE: RN's; for a number of years, the bullet offerings by Remington and Winchester have been shrinking. I really do like the Rem. RN-Corelokts myself.
Especially the .30/30 and .35Rem offerings.

This isn't the old version of the IMR Handloaders Guide but it does have some Core-Lokt bullets listed. Uses IMR powders of course. Now the only IMR data available I know of is on Hodgdon's web site. My older IMR Handloaders Guide lists many more Core-Lokt bullets. However this version or year of the Guide is useful and free. PDF downloadable and printable.

Reference the Hornady/corelokt relationship for load data: I heard some months back that Hornady was producing many of Remingtons rifle bullets, don't remember where i heard or read it.

They have a new Accu bonnded something or nother polymer tip bullet out now for rifle, pretty gold tip.

Their Golden Saber pistol bullets are top notch.
