Is the Piettia '58 Remington sight screwed-in or Silver Soldered in place?

    It is not screwed in.
    Must be silver soldered.
    Uberti is dovetailed.
When I shortened a Pietta Remmi barrel, picked up a Uberti replacement & dovetailed it in.

Is the Uberti sight tall enough to allow for some elevation adjustment?

The front sight has plenty of material to allow some removal for sight adjustments.
I regulated my 5 1/2" 1858 Remington to shoot POI at 21 ft. It took a little bit of filing and trial and error to get it right but it was allset-up within a 1/2 hour.
It sure is pleasing when I'm at the range and have a (or a group) of Semi-auto guys watch as I blow the center out ofr a bull at "Combat Distance" The looks are priceless! Just to see this oldtime C&B outshoot a modern Semi-Auto, they don't expect THAT at all!
Having the sights regulated for close range shooting makes offhand plinking at short ranges a ball!
