Remington Model 14 Information

Designed by John Pedersen, the Model 14 was a solid rifle. It was meant to compete with contemporary lever actions like the Marlin, Winchester 94, and Savage 99. The 35 Remington cartridge is the best one to have and a mint condition one for that price is a steal.
The gun is difficult to mount a scope on without ruining the value. If you intend to use it to hunt, you might want to consider a peep site. Don't try to disassemble the gun beyond the initial takedown feature. It's a pain in the behind to get back together. My 30 Remington model 14 is a jewel.
