Remington Model 510 22Cal Single Shot Rifle

I'm a new member and looking for information. I have inherited a Remington Model 510 and the only markings I can find other then general model number stamping are on the side of the barrel "nkP" Can someone tell me the meaning of this stamping. Additionally, I'm looking for a replacement butt plate (plastic) for this rifle. I have grand kids that I want to start teaching with this one. Thanks...Chris

The barrel code uses B-L-A-C-K P-O-W-D-E-R-X to determine the month. the last letter signifies the year, one I have was made in 1939 so the letter P should be 1947. The rifle was made from 1939 - 1962. Very Very rare rifle and a tack driver. Also resist all the temptations to sand and restore the rifle.

The 510 "Targetmaster" is great gun for teaching the kids. My dad had one he gave my youngest brother that we boys all learned to shoot with. The rifle will shoot nickles @50yd any day and dimes on good ones. His is scoped though, and they are not drilled & tapped IIRC from the factory.
They run ~$150-$200 on the auction houses and IMO are worth every penny.
