Remington Model 7615?

I think this looks like a fun riffle to own, I have been thinking of getting on & would like to here others experiences.

Many post i've found are saying why not just get an AR instead. I understand that, but really want to know about this riffle

I've been thinking about an AR in .243 for coyotes, like the DPMS offering.

I don't own a Remington 7615, and I'm probably not leaning that way, for a couple of reasons:

1. Only offered in .223, and I want something larger.
2. Doesn't open up for cleaning. Have to clean from muzzle.

Now I'm aware that the .223 is a perfectly adequate cartridge, and without the direct gas impingement of the AR, the 7615 action probably doesn't need to be cleaned very often. Barrel is going to have to be cleaned from muzzle end, though.

Other than these minor complaints, it does look interesting.

I have a 7615 and love it. It shoots like a laser beam. Partly because it is Remingtons shotgun frame made into a rifle. It shoulders and points like a shotgun. Look at what you want to shoot, raise the rifle and the sights are right on target.

I bought mine because I read so many complaints about mini-14 accuracy (which does not seem to be the case with my 580 series gun) and i just cannot make myself like the AR 15. I like the way the old ARs look from the early Vietnam war, but the M4s just don't do it for me.

I also reload so not having my brass that cost .20+ cents each thrown all over hell and half of Georgia is also a big plus. I can also load down to 22 Hornet velocity and the gun will still function. Common cheap mags is another big plus.

The action doesn't get dirty very much. I just slide a cleaning rod down the barrel and screw the slotted jag or bore brush on and pull it out of the barrel. Remington makes smooth barrels and mine doesn't foul with copper very fast. So the listed cleaning issues are a non problem for me.

Buy it, you'll like it.

Perhaps you ought to consider the 7600 in .308 instead with its enhanced range and power.

Does the barrel not come out of the receiver, similar to an 870?

no the barrel mounted in a completely diffrent fashon. On a 76xx the barrel is completely separate from the slide hangar and thus is completely free floated all the way to the chamber. I feel this is what lends these rifles to feats of astounding accurcay
