I started out planning to use Federal large rifle primers and Remington large magnum rifle primers so that it would be impossible to use the wrong primer, due to their different colors. Since it got so hard to find primers, I've also bought some cci large rifle and Winchester large magnum rifle primers. I get the sense that any of them will do for hunting and I'd only sweat it for bench rest competition.

Adding to an old post, CCI 450 for all 223 rem H335 powder, autoloader and bolt, just switched to 7.5 rem for better consistant chrono and better groups and no results yet.
But I did with my remington 700 in 24" barreled rifle, 2" groups at 100yds= cci mag large primer.
I read a post on HRO about Fed 215M primers, so I followed suit, .770 for 5 shot group at 100yds. 129sst bullets, nothing but a primer change . fps 3250 and holds about 11 fps variance

Fiocchi for Small Pistol because they are cheap and they work well (thought if you have light springs in your gun I hear the cups are harder than some other brands). I have used Winchester, CCI, and Federal. They all seem pretty indistinguishable from one another. Federal has odd clumsy packaging which is my only complaint.

Oh, also, CCI Small Pistol and Small Pistol Magnum primer packaging isn't different enough from one another. I've never had a mistake using one in place of the other on the bench, but I bought 1000 CCI Small Pistol Mag primers by mistake one time, then almost did it again when I went to replace them (I notices while I was in line to pay).

Depends on what I'm loading.

For .223 loads Rem 7 1/2 has given me great accuracy results through the years. Have used CCI BR-4 and Federal Match.

For 357 Mag either Winchester mag or CCI mag primers.

For 9mm or 38 Spcl I'm using Federal 100 .

Winchester WLP is all I use for 44 Mag.

I have had no problems with any of them. Preferences? Sure, but no reason to not to use one brand if that is what is available. I have CCI, Winchester, Remington, Wolf, and Federal on the shelf right now.

I really like the Tula primers I got. I also really like the price of the Wolf but I have yet to load any.

The Tula seem to seat easier(CCI seemed to stop just short of flush). Now that I ram prime it doesn't really mater tho. The price was also outstanding.

Over the years I have found that I get very consistent results with Federal 210M and 215M. I have also used CCI and they seem to work fine as well.

Another 2 year old thread brought back from the dead...
^^^+1
I have put together a few rounds for my Rem. 700's also. I have a hard time believing that I could tighten up a 100yd. group 1.230" by changing from CCI primers to Federal primers??
I DO think that there are other things involved in tightening up a group by that amount..Bill..

Tula SP have been working for me in 9mm - G34 with light striker spring. Wolf in my 7.62x39 and Tula SR .223 fpr the ARs. Ran through the last of my Rem SPs and use CCI LPs. They all go bang so I buy based on price then availability.
