Remington Speedmaster 552 date?

    Bought mine in 1965 when I was 9 years old. They say we’re first made in 1957.
    My date stamp is (£anchor symbol) K M 68
    Meaning May 1921. Why is dated before gun produced?

    This site indicates that the letter "M" was used to designate various production years. One of those years is 1965 which I suspect refers to your rifle, not 1921.
