Hello, I am trying to find a front sight for this rifle. I have checked all the usual places but no luck. Numerich is sold out. I am sure there is a sight out there that will fit this screw hole pattern but am having no luck finding one. I have thought of filing a dovetail into it right at the first screw hole and plugging the other. Or getting a solder on sight but it might be too high. It measures 1 9/16" or 1.5625 between holes. It is also strange that I find the schematic shows a peep sight configuration for this model but it does not look like any mods were made to this rifle. Pictures attached. Thanks

The front sight was a tubular sight (see pics)



You might try to replace it with a front sight from a Rem. Nylon 66. (easier to find but it’s a blade sight) such as in this listing

Thanks DIY GUY! I will look that up. I think the tube type sight was on the ones that had a peep sight? Not sure though.

Well I decided to cut a dovetail sight into the barrel
