Remora

I tried carry one with my friends .380. Personally I wasn't a fan, I felt like I'd have to constantly check to make sure it was secure. He likes it, I don't. I feel like that's going to be the case, love them or hate them

I got one as a short term solution while waiting for a quality leather IWB.
I love it, canceled my leather IWB order. It took a couple weeks of constant checking to trust it, though. I'm a fanof quality leather, so this is kind of a sea change for me.
I can set it at my preferred cant and position. It just plain stays, there. I have to readjust my leather IWB's every time I climb out of the truck. The Remora doesn't shift at all.
Does it "not shift all day?" I don't know? I pee every three or four hours.
I drive truck and the extra padding, in conjunction with attaining MY perfect carry position. Makes even 12,14 hour shifts, no problem at all. I've loaded and unloaded, climbed around, helped friends move, etc...it works.
Not so great for pocket carry, for me. The holster always comes out with the gun.
I use it on a sub compact nine (Sig P290RS). I don't know how it would work on something bigger?

I will add, though. I've heard so much about the great CS, including custom orders.
I tried for two months to get them to make me a shorter mag pouch, to fit my P290RS. Never could get more than promises, vague replies and excuses. Finally gave up and got one from Elite Survival.

I have started using the Remora for all of my IWB carry. I had a Crossbreed and gave it away. No need to stuff your pants full of leather, kydex, and metal hooks to carry your gun. The Remora works best when worn against my skin and is very comfortable.

Have several, and have used one w/a Kahr CW45 a fair amount as a grab and go backup - it works fine. I can't jump up and down more than once, and can't run much any more so that's not a consideration.

Just don't forget you are wearing it when you drop your pants to use the can. Your roscoe might take a dunking. Don't ask me how I know (actually it was only a mag carrier w/mag).

I think these have a place. Running to the gas station for a pack of smokes in shorts or sweatpants, or pocket carry.

Every day all day carry? Get something with belt attachments.

Same concept but they don't compare, IMO. The Remora has much more tackiness to the rubber. I wouldn't trust a Sticky holster to IWB nearly as well a Remora.

I have heard so much about them I just had to try. Last week mine came in the mail. I first tried pocket carry and draw. The first draw it came out on the gun. The second draw worked. The third it came out and fell on the floor. I tried IWB. It would work I guess but I don't see the big deal. I sent it back.

I bought my Remora holster with no intent of using it to carry - I just wanted a sleeve that I could keep my Gov't 1911 in when it was staying in my nightstand or truck; I went with the full sweat guard version for that reason. I was extremely skeptical of a clipless IWB but as I said - that's not what I wanted it for, so I got it.

Although I don't like the full-sized 1911 for IWB carry, I have to say I gave the Remora a shot just for giggles for one day and wow it functions great. Whatever the inner and outer materials are they really got their science down. The outer skin prevents it from moving at all, and the inner skin causes it to slide right out just smooth as silk.

I bought mine during a special they were having where if you spent over a certain amount, they gave you a standard (no body shield or sweat guard version) IWB holster for whatever gun you ordered your holster for. So now I've actually got an additional 5" 1911 Remora IWB holster I wouldn't mind trading someone for a 1911 mag or some .380 or .45 ammo... (keep in mind a smaller, commander or officer model will fit in it just fine)

I carry in one. It can go in my pocket or inside the waistband, never fell out yet. Also "sticky" makes a slimmer one.

I carry a G27 every day in one. I've never had it fall out or move around. I have Talon sandpaper grips but I usually wear an undershirt so there's no issue. When I wear it directly against my skin I have a full sweat shield version. I've been on 2 4 day mountain hikes (30 lb pack, ~30 miles) using this setup and have had 0 issues. What I love about it is that when I do need to take my gun out (going into my office, etc) I just pull the entire holster out with no worries. On my hike I left it in the holster at night in my tent, so it really serves multiple purposes. I've bought ~6 different ones trying the different option combinations (sweat shield, reinforced top, etc). The only down side is that I wouldn't recommend reholstering IWB with a loaded gun like the Glock (no external safety) even with the reinforced top. When I do have to reholster I take the holster out of my pants, insert the gun, and then put it back in place. For me, I don't practice holstering/unholstering a live gun anyway so it's not an issue. When I do have to reholster a live gun with it in my pants I take my time and watch it go in.

I have been carrying a Remora for several months and like them a lot. I use it mainly for throwing on a rig if I am running an errand and won't be out long. I have found them to stay put even after hours of carry, though. However, I do find they tend to irritate if you are wearing them against bare skin for more than an hour or two. I recommend the reinforced opening.

I love the 3 remora holsters I have. One for pocket carry with my NAA 2mag revolver, an IWB for M&P40 and an OWB for M&P40. I find that the IWB stays put with out having my belt so tight that my eyes bug-out.

Remora is an advertiser on my forum, but I was a customer before they became an advertiser. They have devised a simple, inexpensive solution to ~90% of your carry needs. They flat out work.

The name means something

The name "Remora" means something. The Remora is a fish that literally sticks itself right on the skin of its host.

I'm somewhat surprised that only one of the posts above mentions placing the holster right against your skin. I cary a Taurus PT740 slim in a Remora all day every day right up against my right hip at about the 3:30 position (right between my front and back pockets).

I'm an old fat white guy who sits at a desk in a nice professional office building. No one has ever noticed my weapon and my wife says she really can't see it under my clothes. The holster is so comfortable that I have developed the habit of home carrying, which is something I had always felt would be wise to do.

I put it on in the morning while pray I won't need to use and take it off as I get ready for bed. I wear it the same way under shorts. It is worthy to note that the Remora should be with a washed with a rag every few days to keep it clean and sticky.
