remote switch installation

so i have an infrared laser that's been sitting in the safe for a year and i just decided to mount it on my PS90. the problem is, that when i position the switch and the light where i want them, i have an extra 8" or so of cable.

i can't cut the cable and reterminate the switch. i suppose the two obvious options are to route the cable the scenic route, or just wind up the cable in a little bundle and secure it somewhere.

anybody have better ideas? pics of how you routed cables on rifles?

I know it won't look pretty, but zip ties are cheap and will do the trick. I have always ended up finding ways to route cables around a bit or just tied them up. I don't have one to show you right now as my current green laser has one of those spiral cords that draws itself up.
