How does it feel to discriminate against someone based on their job?

You tell me. That is exactly why I think the exemption should be removed. It discriminates against everyone who is NOT an LEO. Maybe you should come across the fence and take a look from our side and see who is discriminating against whom.

I am very sorry you feel that people on this forum are cop haters. I think most are simply for equal treatment under the law. If you translate that into "cop bashing" then perhaps you are a little biased in your views. Also, if you just wanted to share fun firearm experiences with other firearm enthusiast you could have not clicked on this thread. You should have been able to guess what was inside based on the title.

So, based on this one thread you are no longer a 2A supporter? Perhaps you were never a real 2A supporter if a thread on a forum can turn you into an anti.

Just for the record. Government is the enemy of freedom in this day and age and the tool the .gov uses (or will use in the future) to forcibly take freedoms from people is law enforcement. Simply being aware of the current political situation does not mean I wear a tinfoil hat.

I have known and gone shooting with many LEO so far in my life and I am sure most on this board have as well. I lived next door to one for 10 years and he was a great person and 2A supporter. I have nothing personally against the line cops as a whole.

To be fair, I am forced to participate in a union that openly endorses democratic political candidates, and therefore gun control. So perhaps we can share each others pain.

I voted yes. That being said, I have respect for those who choose to “serve & protect”. I would also respect their decision to change careers if their “hands were tied” because they were denied the necessary tools.

I'm sorry some of you don't like cops. Like all jobs, we have our bad apples, but as a group, we are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, willing to go out of our way to help.
I'd have liked to have seen you actually address the FOP's attitude regarding police, domestic abuse and firearms...

I feel this will be my last post here, and I will no longer come here, since cops are obviously not welcome here.

How about the citizens worry about their rights, and leave the boogymanevil cops out of this.

Let me tell you civvies something...
To be fair I think your attitude toward people has a lot to do with the reception you've received. When you begin to view yourself as anything other than a regular citizen/civilian because of your leo career it comes off in a way that many people, both here and other places, are going to find displeasing or offensive. You really couldn't have expected a warm reception coming into a thread about some animals being more equal than others and taking the "let me tell you something" authority position could you?

Why are some of the LE getting up in a wad. This site is well know as being anti Police and anti Government.

Thats what attracted me here. I wanted to see what people were thinking. Some of the guys that I work with at the ATF&E also like visiting just for amusement over the JBT posts. No they are not wasting tax money trolling THR. They do it on their own time for entertainment.

THR has a large and diverse membership. We have many different kinds of shooters including novice , professional , hunters, casual, military, para military, and LE.

There are some that post that everyone including convicted murders and legally insane should have the right to own and carry as many or any type of fire arm that they choose.

I think that the majority here are middle of the road on who should or should not prowl our streets with guns.

This thread seems to be driving a wedge between the fractions. I do not know if this is by design or it just deteriorated to this.

This does remind me to not fall into the mindset that all lawful gun owners are ok. There are some out there that view me with strong disdain. This element could turn on me just as fast as the criminal element.

Hi Hotpig,

This does remind me to not fall into the mindset that all lawful gun owners are ok. There are some out there that view me with strong disdain. This element could turn on me just as fast as the criminal element.

By the same token this thread is a good reminder that not all LEO's are OK. That element will turn also. Oh my... that's cop bashing isn't it. My bad.

HotPig may or may not be an agent of the Boneheads Against Terrific Firearms, I wouldn't know, but his "anti-police/anti-government" rhetoric is dead on the money for that mentality. I don't believe I've ever read anything at all here that was anti-police or anti-government. I do read quite a bit about pro-lawful government but that is something else entirely.

If he isn't joking well, there you go. An example of government agents thinking of you as potential criminals who could turn against them at any moment. First the tail gets uppity and starts insisting it is a head. Then it tries to wag the dog.

Being that America was INTENDED to be a society in which all men are looked upon equally, yes, I don't think LEOs should be placed on a higher status than the rest of us.

Like I said, I WAS a firm supporter of the 2nd. I came here to find brothers, instead I found hatred, based on my job. How does it feel to discriminate against someone based on their job? When is your next klan rally?

Good luck, you created an enemy here. For the government haters out there, stick to your computers, and don't forget your tinfoil hats

If participating in and viewing this forum has made you into an opponent of the 2nd Amendment, then you were never a supporter. Claiming that this thread has turned you would be the equivalent of others agreeing that your 1st Amendment rights should be curtailed in the face of your questionable position.

The rare instances of actual cop bashing on this site (as opposed to the knee jerk reaction of some to label anything that questions police action as cop bashing) are balanced by instances of LEO or LEO supporters having the same attitude you've expressed. Yet, you'll find that everyone still believes you have the right to express those opinions, and the forum population still stands behind LEOs, even when faced with opinions such as yours.
